What’s up with Chiron?
Dear Ann,
Can you explain the effects, energy, and symbolism of the asteroid Chiron on the birth chart?
by Curious LeoLeo
Dear Curious Leo,
In Greek mythology, Chiron was a centaur (half man/half horse) who was civilized, kind, and known to be good with medicine. Ironically though, Chiron was not able to heal himself when he was wounded by a poisoned arrow. Thus, in astrology, the planet Chiron has come to symbolize the area in our chart where we are a "wounded healer." In other words, this is the place in our lives where our own pain will likely never fully heal, but the gift it gives us is the ability to heal others who have the same wound. I see that you have Chiron in Aries in the 11th house (ruled by Aquarius). A quick interpretation would be that your character is so unique that you may feel terribly isolated when you let yourself totally be yourself. This may always cause you some degree of discomfort. However, you are a great asset to others who do not feel they easily "fit in" because you can have empathy for them and can encourage them to fully express themselves as you have at times.
