Aries 07 Issue
Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, is symbolized by the god of war and its natural element is fire. Thus it carries the energy of action and initial response. With an Aries, there is rarely much thinking or debating, just purity of self expression. Aries loves taking risks and having adventures and often cannot sit still.
Aries rules the head and is associated with the color red. Ours is an Aries culture of individualism. Our political system of free enterprise is based on the idea that in thinking of ourselves first, we will ultimately contribute to society positively. Aries people tend to become leaders as they are always eager to take charge and move to the front of the line.
Aries is the sign of self and gives us a sense of identity and the courage to be ourselves. In a balanced way, Aries helps us stick up for who we are and what we need, enabling us to move forward with purpose and dynamic intention.
In an unbalanced way, Aries impels us to be self-centered with little concern for others. Our Aries side then becomes an angry bully, thwarting anyone or anything that stands in our way.
When the sun is in Aries, expect to feel energized, direct, and spontaneous. Depending on where Aries is in your chart, you may either feel strong and capable, or overly angry and combative.
Mars, the red planet, rules Aries. The glyph for Mars is the universal symbol for male; its protruding arrow like an erect phallus. Thus Mars/Aries rule passion and desire.
The placement of Mars in the chart tells us about our identity and ability to initiate getting what we desire. For example, someone with Mars in Pisces would have an identity very merged with the collective and would initiate in a nebulous way.
