Pisces 07 Issue
Pisces are humankind's connection to the subtle energies that surround us. They are sensitive and intuitive in a way that gives them great understanding and makes it challenging for them to live in a world full of stimulation. Our daily lives are are inundated with more sounds and sights than most of us are able to register consciously. A Pisces is affected by all this as well as the more subtle energies around us. A Pisces is completely open and connected to all that surrounds us, including people, nature, sounds, and sights. It is no wonder she can feel overwhelmed at times.
When balanced, a Pisces is able to discriminate the signals that are relevant to her and disregard the ones that will only clutter her mind with excess. This takes tremendous concentration. A Pisces yoga practice should work to cultivate greater concentration.

At her best, a Pisces is able to stay grounded through her feet and at the same time be attentive, in tune, and available to pick up messages that come through. She is able to discriminate what is helpful and real from what is excess garbage. She is able to stay connected in her body and allow the signals to pass through as she chooses. Without a body connection, the signals that she picks up just might lift her off the ground and carry her away. It is important for her to feel her feet on the ground and know that they will support her. This body sense ultimately provides her the strength necessary to stay connected to the world.
Vrikasana or Tree Pose
Vrikasana is a wonderful way to develop concentration and steadiness. Balancing on one foot teaches us both to focus on a single point and to find stability in our legs. When we lose the point or the stability, we fall over. Tree pose also demonstrates upward moving energy. She has only one foot on the ground while both hands and the crown of her head are extending upward toward the sky.
Hara Breaths
If not handled skillfully, she can become overwhelmed, leading to
over stimulation and burn out. When a Pisces has been completely overstimulated, she simply gets wiped out and begins to isolate herself. The world becomes simply too much to bear. She will feel small and frightened, and this causes her to withdraw. She also may get very, very tired and need to sleep as the constant over stimulation has worn her out. In order for a Pisces to get back into the world
and contribute, she needs a yoga practice that helps her feel strong. She must be able to stand up for herself and develop clear boundaries amid the stimulus that surrounds her. I recommend hara breaths to help a Pisces get in touch with her powerful strength and her ability to be assertive.
Avoid injury! When practicing yoga, listen to your body and take responsibility for your safety. Always move gently into poses, and do not push too hard.
